Buying a Blythe....

Collecting blythe has one drawback and that's you can't purchase her outside of Asia, Australia or New Zealand but fear not, many stores now ship international. Oh yes, indeedy.

If you're looking to buy your doll within the UK, then I very much recommend nastynip (links at the bottom of the page).

If you decide to purchase a doll from an auction site such as ebay then there are a few things that you should keep in mind >>>>>>>>>>>>>

No. 1 poor images &/ very low "buy it now".
Beware that a seller might want to purposely take poor (unclear) pictures if there are defects.
If the buying price is obviously very low and it sounds too good to be true then perhaps it is!

No. 2 buying second-hand is great idea.
& you can pick up some fantastic dolls at reasonable prices.
BUT if the doll has been customized by the previous owner then make sure you ask a few Q's and make sure the work was done right.

It's really important that polymer specific products where used. A doll can look brilliant when the work is first done but if nail varnish or super glue, for example, was used then that might be a problem down the line. Oh nooooooez!!!

No. 3 buy an unfinished doll.
Sometimes dolls pop up at auction that are unfinished for whatever reason. As above, you need to be sure that the work that has been done was done right but it might be a good oppertunity to pick up a dolly at a good price with a view to completing the work yourself.

No. 4 the train-wreck.
Some dolls are just unfinished and others are a train wreck. Many such dolls are cheap & fixable if they fall into the right hands. The train-wreck doll is also a good practice doll for you to hone your skills on.

No. 5 the imperfect doll
Some flaws, though minor, are not fixable and you can find second-hand dollies with minor nicks, cuts or stains being sold at a lower prices. These are a fantasic deal if you can put up with those little imperfections.

No. 6 the decapitated doll
From time to tome, you will see just the face plates & eye mech go at auction for very low prices. You can purchase a coolkat scalp (no holes) and replacement / licca bodies to restore these beauties!

No. 7 The usual suspects.
It goes without saying that you should always check the credentials and feedback of the seller before you buy and make sure they are not mentioned on bad dolly deals!
